Random Name Picker

Draw one or more winners from any list — with a suspenseful spin.

The Random Name Picker selects winner(s) from any list you type, with a quick rolling draw for suspense. Paste or type names one per line, choose how many to pick, and hit the button — the display cycles through candidates before landing on the result, and multiple draws never repeat within a single pick.

It is the go-to tool for classroom questions, office raffles, team selection, group-project assignments and the eternal 'someone has to do it' moments. Because draws come from the browser's cryptographic randomness, the pick is genuinely fair — nobody can accuse the tool of favoritism.

Your list is processed entirely in the browser and never uploaded, which matters when the list is students' names or a private team. Single winner or several, the picker is instant.

Frequently asked questions

Is the pick really random?

Yes — selections use the browser's cryptographic random source, and multiple winners are drawn without replacement so the same person cannot win twice in one pick.

How many names can I enter?

As many as you like — the tool counts your entries and clamps the winner count to the list size. Thousands of names work fine for large raffles.

Is my list stored anywhere?

No. Names live only in the text box on your device; nothing is transmitted. Close the page and the list is gone.
