PNG to JPG Converter
Convert PNG images to smaller JPG files with a quality dial.
The PNG to JPG converter turns PNG images into much smaller JPEG files right in your browser. Choose the quality with a slider — 90% for near-identical quality, 70% for big savings — and download the compressed result.
PNGs from screenshots, designs and phone exports can be several megabytes even when the visible content is simple. JPEG compresses photographs and gradients far more efficiently, often cutting file size by 70–90% — the difference between an email that sends and one that bounces, or a page that loads instantly and one that stalls.
JPEG does not support transparency, so any transparent areas are flattened onto white (a checkbox-able default that suits most screenshots and photos). Everything runs locally — your image never leaves your device.

Frequently asked questions
Is JPEG always smaller than PNG?
For photos and gradients, almost always — JPEG's lossy compression exploits how the eye works. For flat graphics with few colors (icons, logos, screenshots of text), PNG can actually win; if so, WebP is often the best of both worlds.
What happens to transparency?
JPEG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. This is ideal for photos and most screenshots; if you need to keep transparency, stay with PNG or convert to WebP instead.
Will I lose quality converting PNG to JPG?
JPEG is lossy, so the conversion does discard some detail — at quality 90 the loss is invisible in almost all images; at 70 it is visible on close inspection of text and sharp edges. Keep the original PNG if you may need the lossless version later.
