Age Calculator
Find your exact age in years, months and days — accurate down to the day.
The Age Calculator tells you exactly how old you are — not just in years, but in complete years, months and days. Pick your date of birth, optionally change the reference date (useful for legal ages, eligibility checks or historical questions), and the tool returns your age broken down precisely, plus the total number of days, weeks and months you have been alive.
Age is rarely as simple as 'current year minus birth year': birthdays, leap years and calendar month lengths all matter. Someone born on February 29 has a birthday in only three out of every four years, and an age in days differs depending on how many leap days have passed. This calculator handles all of it using exact calendar math, so the result is always accurate to the day.
It is a staple for checking legal drinking and driving ages, retirement eligibility, school enrollment cutoffs, insurance applications, or simply settling 'who is older' arguments. Everything is computed locally in your browser — enter any date from any year.

Frequently asked questions
How is age calculated exactly?
The calculator compares calendar dates component by component: years first, then months, then days, borrowing a month when the day-of-month is smaller (like someone born on the 30th being 1 month old on the 30th of the next month). It also accounts for leap years when counting total days.
How old am I if I was born on February 29 (leap day)?
In non-leap years most people born on February 29 celebrate on February 28 or March 1. Legally, most systems treat the birthday as February 28 in common years, but this calculator reports your age in calendar terms: on March 1 of a non-leap year you are exactly one day past the anniversary.
Can I calculate someone's age at a future or past date?
Yes — change the 'age as of date' field. This is handy for confirming whether someone meets a minimum age on a specific date, or for historical questions like how old a famous person was when something happened.
Why does my age in days matter?
Some benefits, insurance policies and legal windows are defined in days rather than years (for example, a 30-day notice or a 180-day rule). The total-days figure also makes the math behind 'every day counts' concrete: small differences in birthdays add up over decades.
