Business Days Calculator

Add or subtract business days to find the exact working-day deadline date.

The Business Days Calculator answers the deadline question: 'What date is 10 business days from today?' or 'If I need this 5 working days before Friday, when must it ship?' Give it a start date and a number of business days — positive to move forward, negative to go back — and it walks the calendar day by day, skipping Saturdays, Sundays and any holidays you list.

Business-day math is deceptively tricky: 10 business days is almost never 10 calendar days, and the exact landing date depends on where the weekends and holidays fall. This tool removes all guesswork by literally stepping through the calendar, which makes it reliable for contract deadlines, shipping promises, visa and legal windows, and payroll cutoffs.

Holidays are optional — add national or company holidays as YYYY-MM-DD lines and they are skipped like weekends. The whole calculation runs in your browser.

  2. Type the number of business days to add (use a negative number to go backwards).
  3. Optionally list holidays to skip, one YYYY-MM-DD per line.
  4. Read the resulting date with its weekday.
  5. Try different counts to plan buffer into a schedule.

Frequently asked questions

What is 10 business days from today?

Enter today as the start and 10 as the count — the tool gives the exact date. As a rule of thumb, 10 business days usually spans about 2 calendar weeks, but the precise date depends on where weekends fall.

Does 'business days' include the start date?

No — the count starts the day after the start date. Adding 1 business day to a Friday lands on Monday; adding 3 business days to a Friday lands on Wednesday.

Can I subtract business days?

Yes — use a negative number. This answers questions like 'what was the last working day before the holiday shutdown' or 'what date is 7 business days before the filing deadline'. Weekends and holidays are skipped in both directions.

How is this different from the Workdays Calculator?

The Workdays Calculator counts how many working days fall inside a date range. This tool starts from one date and adds or removes a number of working days to produce a new date — the two are inverse operations for deadline planning.
